Marina Village & the Waterfront

Boynton Beach sits at an interesting intersection of old Florida and new development — a city that's been reinventing itself block by block along the Intracoastal while retaining the character of a real working community rather than a resort destination. Marina Village on the Intracoastal is the most polished corner of the city's dining scene: waterfront restaurants with boat-accessible docks, views of the drawbridge opening for sailboats, and a rotating calendar of events.

Two Georges at the Cove is the anchor tenant, drawing a regular crowd for weekend brunches with live music, weekend specials, and that quintessential South Florida waterfront energy. The marina area fills up on Sunday afternoons with boaters pulling in for lunch and land-based visitors taking in the views. It's one of the more genuinely enjoyable waterfront stops between Delray and West Palm Beach.

Federal Highway Dining & Nightlife

Federal Highway heading through Boynton has become increasingly interesting for dining over the past few years. Independent restaurants, craft beer stops, and local bars are filling in the gaps between strip malls, and the corridor has more character than a drive-through would suggest. The growing cluster of spots near downtown Boynton — around Ocean Avenue and the surrounding blocks — has a neighborhood feel that rewards exploration on foot.

Ocean Avenue itself connects the Intracoastal to the beach and has been the target of arts and dining investment from the city, with murals, public art installations, and streetscaping that's made the short stretch more walkable and lively than it was a decade ago.

Outdoor & Nature

Boynton Beach's outdoor scene benefits enormously from its proximity to the natural areas just west of town. Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge is a massive freshwater marsh that represents one of the last remnants of the historic Everglades drainage basin — it offers excellent paddling, birding, bass fishing, and hiking along the levee trails. The Intracoastal Waterway itself is great for kayaking and standup paddleboarding, particularly around the quieter residential channels north of the marina.

Oceanfront park access is easy at Boynton Beach's own barrier island, where Ocean Ridge and the beach park offer uncrowded stretches of sand that locals tend to keep to themselves. The natural reef offshore makes for good snorkeling conditions in clear water.

Arts & Community Events

The Boynton Beach Arts District has been developing around the downtown core, with murals and small galleries adding creative energy to the civic center area. Centennial Park and the adjacent amphitheater host outdoor events, free concerts, and seasonal markets throughout the year. The city's First Friday events and community programming have grown steadily, and the downtown area around City Hall and the amphitheater is increasingly worth a weekend visit for the cultural calendar alone.
